In loving memory of Gladys (Gay) Flom, who peacefully departed on November 12, 2023, at 10 pm, surrounded by the warmth and love of dear friends. Born in Lakefield, Minnesota, on November 12, 1925, to Alfred and August Amundson, Gay was a cherished sister to Addie and Millie and brother Alvy, all preceding her her in death. Although Gay and Mel had no children of their own, she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In 1955, Gay found the love of her life, Mel, and their union in 1957 blessed them with 58 years of boundless love until Mel’s passing in 2015. Their laughter-filled marriage, seasoned with golf games and harmonious melodies, resonated joy for half a century in their South Minneapolis home. Gay, a quick-witted and humorous soul, spent her career as an elevator operator at the Northwest Bank Building in downtown Minneapolis.
With a radiant smile that ignited joy in all who encountered it, Gay’s generosity knew no bounds. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ reassures us that she now rests in the arms of her Lord and Savior, reunited with her beloved Mel. As we bid farewell, let us celebrate a life lived with love, laughter, and an enduring faith that now shines eternally in the presence of God.
