1 small onion, chopped, or 2 teaspoons instant onion
1 pound ground beef
1 20-ounce can green beans or peas, drained
1 10.5-ounce can tomato soup
1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups mashed potatoes

Brown onion and ground beef in skillet. Add remaining ingredients except potatoes. Turn into 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Spoon mashed potatoes over top.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Serves 6.
