As we draw closer to Holy Week, we are nearing the end of our Lenten worship focus on “turning.” The gospel reading for the fifth Sunday in Lent is John 19:1-16—where in the eyes of the world Jesus turns from hero to criminal, crowned with thorns and led away to be crucified. Pastor Kristen Capel is preaching this Sunday, reflecting on how we use our power in “thorny” circumstances.
