Our month-long “Opening Doors” generosity initiative comes to a close this week on Commitment Sunday, February 7. This week’s theme is, “Opening Doors to Generosity.” Pastor Steve Delzer is preaching on extravagant giving, using the text from Luke 7:36-50, and we’re celebrating Holy Communion. We’ll also showcase a message from members of the Generosity Team, along with words on giving from a couple of the children at Nokomis Heights.
Marian Blattner is lector this week, and a whole host of musicians are part of worship—Kim Bretheim, Sue Danielson Bretheim, Johan Christopherson, Annika Coyle, Carolyn Deters, Krista Johnson, Bill & Carol Kaemmerer, Mark Lofthus, Daniel Magnuson, Tim Wicker, and Kristin Young. It will be a full and exciting service. We hope you will join us!
This Sunday, we will also offer our pledges to support the opening of our doors to our neighbors, to worship, to justice, and to generosity in Christ’s name. You are invited to complete your pledge card and return it to the church. Members of the Generosity Team will be available to collect pledge cards on Sunday outside the church from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. You may also mail in your card, or go online to nokomisheights.org to complete the form by February 7. Thank you!
