Online Sunday Forum: Mapping Prejudice/Just Deeds
January 17, 2021 / 11:00 am – 12:00 pm CST
When Golden Valley city attorney Maria Cisneros discovered racial covenant language on the property she purchased with her husband, she had it removed. As a result of her experience, the Golden Valley Human Rights Commission recently started a program called the Just Deeds Project, which provides free legal and title services to help people remove racially restrictive language. Maria Cisneros and equity and inclusion manager Kiarra Zackery are joining us for an online forum on Sunday, January 17, to discuss how the Just Deeds initiative builds on the Mapping Prejudice project, of which Nokomis Heights has been a part, and what we can do to rid our deeds of restrictive and hateful language.
The Forum will be held on the ZOOM platform. Use this link to participate: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89263830872
