Online Sunday Forum: Blanca Raniolo, Bilingual Learning Center

We are pleased to welcome Blanca Raniolo, Executive Director and Co-founder of BLC Bilingual Learning Center to Forum on Sunday, February 7. The Biligual Learning Center (BLC) has begun using our church building for learning pods during the pandemic. She will be talking with us about the learning center and her passion for working with a diverse community to create a welcome and safe environment in which everyone has the same opportunity to learn.

A native of Venezuela, Blanca Raniolo holds a B.A. degree in Education a Masters degree in Social Communication with specialization in social development, both earned with honors from Andres Bello Catholic University in Venezuela. In 2005, she received a Masters of Education degree from Hamline University, after coming to the United States on a scholarship from the Organization of America States (OAS) in Washington DC..

Raniolo has worked in the education field for 20 years. Her philosophy of education is Constructivism—educating by reflecting experiences in a learning environment and constructing an understanding of the world we live in. As a leader, she has facilitated workshops for adults, with a focus on Latinos in low-income communities. She is the author of two books on education, was director of an instructional video for better parenting, and has written multiple articles on education for several Latino newspapers and magazines in the Twin Cities and in Venezuela. In 2008, she won the “25 On the Rise” Award in the Twin Cities, and in 2016, she received the Visionary Leadership award from the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. She is also a Yoga Calm certified instructor, at Windom Dual Immersion School in Minneapolis. She currently is writing a bilingual children’s book on mindfulness.
