Join us following worship for our Sunday Forum series! This week’s presenter is Dr. Rolf Jacobson, Professor of Old Testament and the Alvin N. Rogness Chair of Scripture, Theology, and Ministry at Luther Seminary. He will be speaking on the why and how he and colleague Dr. Craig Koester developed the Narrative Lectionary, which we recently have begun to use in worship. We will meet on the ZOOM platform. Email the church to get the link. Forum will begin at 11am following our online worship and wrap up at noon. We anticipate a lively and information discussion, as always.

Known for his humor and faithful biblical interpretation, Jacobson is an in-demand preacher and teacher. He has collaborated on a number of projects related to his scholarly interests of the Psalms, prophets, biblical theology, biblical narrative, and preaching the Old Testament. He can be heard on two weekly preaching podcasts, “Sermon Brainwave” and “The Narrative Lectionary,” as well as with a Lutheran bluegrass band, “The Fleshpots of Egypt.”

Jacobson earned a B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, an M.Div. from Luther Seminary, and a Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. Prior to joining the faculty at Luther Seminary, he served on the faculty of Augsburg University and as Associate Pastor of Como Park Lutheran Church in St. Paul. He lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, with his beloved wife Amy, their children Ingrid and Gunnar, and a cat who thinks he is a dog.
