This month’s book selection is Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay. In this young-adult novel, a Filipino-American teenager in his senior year travels to the Philippines to find out what happened when the cousin he’d been corresponding with was murdered as part of President Duterte’s war on drugs. Patron Saints of Nothing is a page-turning portrayal of the struggle to reconcile faith, family, and immigrant identity.
