Sunday Worship: Lent 3

It’s the third Sunday in Lent and we’re continuing our worship series based on the Gospel of John, titled “Turning.” This week we focus on the gospel reading from John 18:12-27, where Peter the disciple turns denier. Pastor Steven Delzer is preaching, and we will celebrate Holy Communion.

To deny that one is a disciple of Jesus is to deny that one has an intimate relationship with him. Reflecting on that has led Pastor Steve to wonder, “Have you, like me (and Peter), ever regretted not saying or doing what you know you could or should have said or done?” Take heart, Jesus gathers all of us at the foot of the cross where we are invited to lay down all of our regrets, and there witness the true heart of God. What wondrous love is this! 

Even though the mask mandate has been lifted in Minneapolis, we are still asking everyone over the age of 2 to wear a mask to protect unvaccinated children and other vulnerable populations. KN95 masks are available for those who don’t have them.
