Our Sunday Forum speaker this week is Brenda Blackhawk, Minneapolis Area Synod’s Congregational Organizer for Racial Justice. Join us for a presentation on the different ways the Synod is engaging in Racial Justice work and how congregations can become involved in and/or lead this work. As the Congregational Organizer for Racial Justice, Brenda works with leaders across the Minneapolis Area Synod to increase cultural competency, dismantle racist systems, and build relationships with groups working for racial justice and equity. Brenda grew up in North Minneapolis in a mixed-race, multi-cultural family. She is a graduate of Iowa State University, where she majored in English and minored in technical communications, women’s and gender studies, and American Indian studies.
