Soup Supper Volunteers Needed
Once again we’ll be serving light soup suppers before our midweek Advent services, and we’re looking for folks to prepare soup, bread, and bars, along with volunteers to serve. This Advent we have the opportunity to serve on 3 Wednesday evenings: Dec. 6, Dec. 13, and Dec. 20. To volunteer, sign up online at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d44a8ad2aa7f49-advent2. Advent Giving Tree for Our Saviour’s Housing
Once again we are filling Home Care Holiday Baskets for the 100 (80 men, 20 women) Permanent Supportive Housing residents of Our Saviour's Housing. The Advent Giving Tree is in the Courtyard. Please take a tag or a few, procure the items and return them to NHLC no later than Wednesday, December 13!

Sunday School Christmas Program, December 17
The annual children's Christmas program will take place during Sunday worship on December 17. This year's extravaganza, "And a Little Child Shall Lead Them," will feature the talents of Sunday school students, preschool through senior high. Rehearsal for the program will be held Saturday, December 16, 9:30-11:00 a.m. K-12 kids are asked to attend. We'll also run through the program with all kids during Sunday school on December 17. Order a Christmas Poinsettia
Help beautify the church this season by ordering a poinsettia for the sanctuary. The plant can be given in memory of a loved one, in honor of a special event, or simply to add to our celebration of the season. You may pick up your plant after worship on Christmas Day. Cost per plant is $16. Please contact the church office to order a poinsettia. Orders are due by December 17. (Posted: 12/07/2017)
Like to Sing? Join the Festival Choir for Christmas!
Come sing with us! A choir is assembling to sing at the 4:00 p.m. worship on Christmas Eve and the 10:00 a.m. worship on Christmas Day. Three Wednesday evening rehearsals are planned, following Advent worship on Dec. 6, Dec. 12, and Dec. 20. No worries if you didn’t sing with the choir in the past—we’ll find you a robe and welcome your voice!

Help with the Christmas Coffee
Christmas morning at Nokomis Heights is made even sweeter with our Christmas Coffee on December 25, but we can't do it without your help! Donate treats (needed by December 22), help decorate the Fellowship Hall (December 22, 9:00 a.m), serve on Christmas Day, or clean up December 26. Sign upon the poster in the Courtyard or call the church office, if you can help. If you have questions, talk to Cindy Nelson. Help keep this tradition strong and tasty—volunteer! Youth Events in December
Dec. 13—Youth Serve Advent Supper
Dec. 16—9-12th Grade Ugly Sweater Party, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Don your ugly holiday sweaters and come to John and Amy’s house for a potluck supper, holiday movies, and rip-roarin’ fun with your friends. Bring a dish to share. RSVP to Amy (youth@nokomisheights.org) by Dec. 13 so we can arrange for rides to St. Paul. Friends are welcome!
Dec. 28th—7-12th Grade Buck Hill Tubing with Sarah & Amy, 5:00-8:30 p.m. Bring $15 for Buck Hill tubing admission and money for dinner at the Black Diamond restaurant in the Buck Hill Lodge. RSVP to Amy (youth@nokomisheights.org) by Dec. 23 so we can arrange for drivers and chaperones. Friends are welcome!

Love & Justice Bible Study

NHLC Endowment Grant Applications
The NHLC Endowment Board is seeking grant proposals for programs within and beyond our church walls not funded through the church budget. We have $4000 for use this year. Forms are available in the narthex or online at marcia.stevens@mnsu.edu. Completed applications can be submitted to church office or given to any of the Endowment Board members Kristin Young, Libby Bottem, John Witt, Tom O'Mara, Jon Larson, or Marcia Stevens. Applications are due January 30, 2018, with review and decision announcements made in early February.
