Book Club, March 28
The NHLC Book Club will meet Thursday, March 28, at 7:00 p.m. in the Courtyard. This month’s book is "Short Night of the Shadow Catcher" by Timothy Egan. The nonfiction work covers Edward Curtis, a por-trait photographer who spent 3 decades document-ing the stories and rituals of more than 80 North American tribes before the old ways disappeared. This work changed him from a detached observer to an outraged advocate. Everyone is invited to join the discussion

Winter Weather Worship Policy
In the case of bad winter weather, the answering machine at the church office will reflect cancellations or changes in schedule a minimum of 90 minutes prior to an event. You may also check our Facebook page and website. Please note that if you do not feel it’s safe to travel to or from church, you should stay home. When the weather clears—and it will—we’ll look forward to seeing you back in worship!

Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign
The Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign is the largest grassroots food and fund drive in the state, bringing together various community organization, businesses, and faith communities to help stock nearly 300 food shelves statewide. In 2018, over $8.1 million dollars and 5.5 million pounds of food were raised by Minnesota food shelves and Minnesota FoodShare.

Minnesota FoodShare envisions a Minnesota where all residents have access to healthy food, and no one struggles with food insecurity. The March Campaign addresses these issues directly and we invite you to join our efforts and advocate for long-term solutions to food insecurity and poverty in our communities.

Our partner food shelf is at Community Emergency Service. Will you join us in helping CES feed more Minnesota families? Please consider making a generous cash donation to the Food Shelf during March. Make your check out to Nokomis Heights and note “Food Shelf” in the memo line today!

Matching Dollars Will Fund Our 6th Well with Water To Thrive in East Africa
Funds from Thrivent and pledges by three households of Nokomis Heights totaling $1700 are available for a 1:1 match of your donations through April 2019. If all of these matching funds are used up with your donations, this total added to past amounts will be enough to fund NHLC’s 6th water project with Water To Thrive. Make your tax-deductible donation by putting “Well #6” on the memo line of your check to NHLC.
