Church Clean-Up Weekend, Oct. 21-22
We’re sprucing up the place—inside and out!
• Saturday, October 21, 9:00-Noon
We need 6-8 volunteers for fall outdoor clean-up. Projects will include eradicating weeds around the church, stump removal, raking, and general fall cleanup. Bring along work gloves, brush trimmers and a weedwacker if you have one. Call Wayne Hanson for more information: 612-232-7202.
• Sunday, October 22, 9:00-10:00
It’s okay to wear your grubby clothes to worship because the clean-up fun continues on Sunday! Sunday Forum and Sunday School will include a variety of tidying-up tasks—even some you can do sitting down! We’re going to clean, sort, and organize from top to bottom, and the more people we get to help, the faster the work will get done!

2017 CES Challenge Results
We did it! As of Sunday, September 24, $6830 had been given by Nokomis Heights members in this year’s CES Challenge! That means we more than met the $6000 dollar-for-dollar match from a generous young NHLC family. And that family has agreed to match it, for a total of more than $13,600 for Community Emergency Service. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Give to Lutheran Disaster Response
Feeling overwhelmed by the news and pictures coming from our hurricane-ravaged neighbors to the south? Give to Lutheran Disaster Response! The road to recovery will be long, and Lutheran Disaster Response will be there through every phase. Your gifts ensure that our church will be able to provide help and hope for those left homeless or otherwise affected by these disastrous hurricanes for years to come. Gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response designated for “Hurricane Response—United States” will be used entirely (100 percent) for these disasters until the response is complete. To give, you can make a check out to Nokomis Heights and mark “Hurricane Response” in the memo line. We’ll make sure it gets to those who need it!
